Helping People Understand Their Healthcare
Joydrop Wellness was created from a simple belief: It is important to get an understanding about anything that involves your life and your health. Healthcare can become overwhelming quickly.
A person may be preparing for childbirth, just gave birth and dealing with postpartum, facing a serious diagnosis, recovering from a hospital stay, navigating a transplant evaluation, or struggling to obtain medication and follow-up care.
Joydrop Wellness helps individuals and families slow the process down, organize information, monitor the situation, prepare questions, follow up on concerns, and better understand what is happening and what may need to happen next.
“At Joydrop, advocacy is not just a service, it is a responsibility.”

Meet the Founder

Joydrop Wellness™ was founded by Nichelle M. Cook, a Patient Safety Risk Mitigation Consultant with more than 20 years of experience spanning the legal profession, healthcare advocacy, mediation, negotiation, patient navigation, patient safety research, and complex healthcare case analysis.
Her work focuses on maternal and postpartum health, patient safety, transitions of care, chronic kidney disease, oncology navigation, transplant navigation, healthcare access, and complex care situations. A central focus of her work is examining the gaps that can occur after diagnosis, childbirth, hospitalization, discharge, referral, treatment denial, or other critical points in a patient’s healthcare journey.
Nichelle developed Joydrop Wellness™ to help individuals and organizations get an understanding of what is happening within a healthcare situation, why it matters, what questions need to be asked, where risks or gaps may exist, and what may need to happen next. Her approach combines legal research discipline, patient safety and quality principles, trauma-informed awareness, healthcare advocacy, case analysis, and practical care-transition strategy.
Through Joydrop Wellness™, Nichelle works with individuals, legal professionals, healthcare organizations, universities, and corporate entities on patient safety consulting, maternal and postpartum health initiatives, discharge and follow-up strategy, healthcare case research and analysis, complex care navigation, oncology and CKD support, transplant navigation, and risk-mitigation projects designed to strengthen communication, improve understanding, identify system gaps, and reduce preventable harm.
Patient Safety, Accountability & Advocacy Research
Nichelle also uses her voice to raise awareness about conditions that may affect patients, families, workers, and communities. Her advocacy includes maternal and postpartum safety, patient harm, healthcare access, worker dignity, racial disparities, public policy, and the connection between workplace conditions and the quality of patient care.
Through research, speaking, rallies, legislative advocacy, Joydrop Wellness Insights, and The Sunflower Advocate, she encourages people to examine the facts, ask difficult questions, and seek meaningful improvement.
Our Mission
To inform, advocate, and provide patient-safety support before the next harmful event occurs. We may not control every healthcare outcome, but we can provide clarity, preparation, encouragement, and support.
Reviews
Partnering with Joydrop Baby & Wellness was hands down the best decision I made during my pregnancy! My strategist became my guiding light, offering the vital oversight that my busy doctors simply couldn’t provide. She meticulously helped me track my vital signs and consistently followed up to ensure I recognized the crucial warning signs. Thanks to her unwavering advocacy and deep expertise in maternal safety, I felt empowered, confident, and ultimately experienced a wonderfully successful outcome!

High-Risk Maternal Health Client
While recovering from hip surgery, I felt vulnerable and overlooked by the rotating staff. My strategist stepped in when she noticed the bedside care was not meeting professional or safety standards. She addressed the rough handling during linen changes and fluid bag rotations with the hospital administration, and the manner in which the spoke to me ensuring the staff adhered to safety protocols. She was the ‘voice of reason’ in a chaotic environment, and I truly believe her presence prevented a major setback in my recovery.
